Totally Lost It!!

The last few days have been really hectic for me. Progress reports went home today just at the last minute. I hate waiting until the last minute to get my reports done and printed and ready for the kids to take home, in fact I NEVER wait until the last minute to get them done. Well, I had planned to finish them on Friday, but I had and unexpected illness and couldn't go to work. Monday I had to get a ride home and had to make sure my sub plans were ready before 4pm, so again I couldn't get my reports done. Yesterday I had a DR. apt. and didn't get them done. So there I am today racing to get them done. I had to get one last assignment in for Social Studies and realized I hadn't collected it yet. I told the class to get their desks put back (we had been doing an Earth Day activity) and as soon as they did they needed to bring me their assignment. I said it 5 TIMES and I am not exaggerating. There is always one in the class that just doesn't hear anything. Well, I then called all the students names that I didn't get it from. At this point it is 20 before the end of the day. I look over and the one girl that hasn't brought me her assignment is in a tug of war battle with another girl over a water bottle, she hasn't put her desk back (in 10 min.) and I stopped the battle and asked what she was doing and why hadn't she done anything. She looks at me with a blank stare. Then I told her to move her name to step 1 and here is where I lost it. SHE ROLLED HER EYES AT ME!!! This is like stabbing a teacher. You NEVER roll your eyes at the teacher. I lost it. I SCREAMED at her to get out of the classroom. The class fell dead silent. I was fuming. I also had a mom helper in the room. The rest of the class got out an assignment we had been working on and got to work. I told the mom(who is also a good friend) that in all my years of teaching I have never, ever yelled at a student like that. I have never had a reason to, no student would ever roll their eyes at me. I gave the student a referral and she lost all her points towards our field trip so she doesn't go.

Should I have reacted like that? Probably not. I am usually very level headed when it comes to behavior, but this kid just caught me at the wrong time.

Moral of the story- don't leave work until the last minute and never, ever roll your eyes at the teacher.

Thank You Modern Medicine

When I was in urgent care last week I said to my mom, "I'm so glad I didn't live in the 1800's or earlier because I think I could die from this."(referring to the acid reflux). My mom assured me I wouldn't die, but it felt like I could. You know women back then had to get this. So how did they treat it? I would die if I did this everyday. I say this because I had another "attack" of the reflux. It wasn't good. I had to try over the counter medicine before my insurance would approve my medication, and it didn't work. So yesterday I had to get all that straightened out. My doctor has the best nurse. She took care of everything and by 4:30 the insurance had approved my medication and not a moment too soon. At 3:00Am I woke up with horrible pains. It was almost as bad as last Friday, luckily my smart mom suggested I save one pill and I had it to take. It was a good thing because I didn't want to wake Justin up to take me to the emergency room. It took about an hour for the pill to work, but what sweet relief it was when it did work. Oddly, I had another attack at 7:30 this morning (not as bad) and my parents rushed over with my prescription, (Don't ask, I had it filled at the Walgreens by them-I know dumb). Now I am feeling better and I will be on this pill the rest of my pregnancy. All I have to say is this better the best baby ever and he better be darn cute for all I have been through with him. It will be totally worth it!

Weekend of events

This was quite the weekend. I was really excited that Friday was a day off, but was not happy to spend it in agonizing pain. I had to make a trip to Urgent Care in the afternoon. Thank goodness I was at my parents house, because I don't think I could have gotten myself there. My mom took me around around 1pm and I seriously thought I was going to die, or wish I would die. I had a really bad acid reflux attack. I had never had that before and let me tell you it was not something I would want to experience again.

Today, we had a nice Easter day. My chest still feels like someone punched, my sister said the acid burned me so it will hurt for a few days. Other than that we had a nice day. We went to church with Justin's mom and dad. It was exciting because at church Justin felt the baby kick for the first time, he was really excited. Then we had lunch with his parents, and then went to my parents house for dinner. My mom made the yummiest pork roast stuffed with apple stuffing. It is a Paula Dean recipe. It was so good.

I really enjoy holidays and being with family. I really enjoyed going to church today and hearing about the resurrection of our Savior. It always reminds me of how important family is and how wonderful it is to know that we will be together forever.

Disney on Ice

Last night my self and some friends from work went to see Disney on Ice, and NO we didn't have any children with us. It was actually really cute and we had fun. The story was funny. The Incredibles go on vacation to Disneyland as the Parrs (their family identity) and they end up having to save Mickey and Minnie. They had different attractions, Jungle Cruse, Pirates, Small World, Space Mountain and the Tea Cups. It was cool how they did it. So if anyone with kids or not, wants a fun thing to do this weekend I would recommend it.

Super Baby!!

I found these cute onesies at Babygap.com and had to order them. Justin is a huge Superman fan so I had to get his little guy a superman onesie. I liked the batman one too and it was cheaper to buy 2. I also found these great organic chew toys that my sister-in-law Elisabeth got for Ansley. They are great! They are shaped liked fruit and vegetables. I got a carrot and a string pea. I'll have to put pictures up of them later.

Make Room for Baby

We are turning our spare room into the baby's room. It was full of furniture that all had to be taken down. My mom came to help (thanks so much mom) since I am not much help, not being able to carry heavy things and all. Luckily Justin's brother needed full size mattresses so we got rid of those and his other brother wants the entertainment center that is in there too.
Angus and Pippin were sad to see their hiding place gone. They were hiding one last time before the bed was gone.
